Total Home Terms and Conditions

General

  • Spark Standard Residential and Broadband terms and conditions apply 
  • Total Home, Total Home Lite, Total Home Starter and Total Home Broadband are only available to residential customers with their home phone line, calling and broadband with Spark
  • Total Home Mobile is only available to residential customers with their home phone line and home phone calling, broadband and a linked active Spark mobile phone (or a mobile we advice you is Spark compatible) and Spark mobile calling with Spark. A maximum of three active Spark mobile phones can be linked to a Total Home Mobile package. Mobile phones can only be linked to one Total Home Mobile package at any given time. Spark mobiles currently in a minimum fixed term contract cannot be linked to Total Home Mobile.
  • When choosing the minimum contract for Total Home, Total Home Mobile, Total Home Lite, Total Home Starter and Total Home Broadband, the minimum period is 12 months and an early termination fee of $199 applies if you disconnect your line before the conclusion of your contract
  • If you remove your access, calling, or broadband from Spark, or your mobile on a Total Home Mobile package, you will no longer be eligible for a Total Home package and you will be right planned on to a more appropriate plan.
  • If you change Total Home plans during your minimum contract period you will not be required to start a new minimum term contact, the current minimum term left in your contract will merely transfer over to your new plan
  • When choosing the Open term contract for Total Home, Total Home Mobile, Total Home Lite, Total Home Starter and Total Home Broadband, a standard $99 broadband connection fee will apply and you will be required to provide your own modem
  • A minimum 30 day term applies for any bolt-on calling services added to your Total Home package
  • All calls apply to standard calls only, and exclude special chargeable calls e.g. 0900 or equivalent.
  • All specific rates detailed in these terms are subject to change.

Total Home calling

  • 'Unlimited number of national calls' apply to direct dial voice calls from your home line to landlines in New Zealand, and calls are for up to 2 hours, after 2 hours you will be charged 14c per minute. Excludes calling cards, 059, 0161, premium numbers (0900 and any international equivalent), calls made via Home 0800 or International 0800 and calls to mobiles
  • Total Home customers with a National Home 0800 number will be charged at 14c per minute plus the applicable surcharges for the calls to the Home 0800 number. More info
  • The prices for calls to Australia, UK, USA, Ireland and Canada apply to calls from your home line to landlines in these countries (calls to mobiles are excluded). Calls are charged for the first minute then per second to the calling cap. A one-minute minimum charge applies per call
  • Calls made to Spark mobiles cost 30c per minute and will be capped at $2.00 for up to 2 hours. Calls exceeding the 2 hour cap will be charged on a per minute at 30c. Calls to other network mobiles will be charged at the applicable rate per minute
  • Total Home can not be taken up in conjunction with any other calling plan, with the exception of Talk It Up Overseas, Talk It Up Downunder,  My Favourites (to Spark mobiles only) or Freedom.

Total Home Lite calling

  • Total Home Lite includes a My Favourites number which provides the ability to nominate one landline number in New Zealand or one Spark mobile and make an unlimited number of direct dial voice calls each month from your home phone to that nominated landline number or mobile and talk for up to 2 hours per call. After 2 hours you will be charged 18c per minute for landlines and 39c per minute for mobiles, so if you are going to talk for longer, just hang up and call again! The extra charges for these calls will be displayed separately on your bill
  • You can nominate up to a maximum of two additional My Favourites numbers for $6 per each additional My Favourites number. Above call duration and overage rules will apply to any My Favourites numbers
  • Excludes calling cards, 059, 0161, premium numbers (0900 and any international equivalent), calls made via Home 0800 or International 0800 and calls to mobiles, and excludes return calling from the nominated number(s)
  • You must nominate a My Favourites number to take advantage of the benefits of My Favourites numbers with Total Home Lite
  • You can only change your My Favourites number(s) once per calendar month
  • The My Favourites number and any changes to the relationship with this number are your responsibility. If there are any changes to your product set affecting the My Favourites number relationship, or any changes to the number you have nominated, you need to contact Spark NZ to make any changes
  • Calls made to NZ landlines other than those nominated as a My Favourites number will be charged at 18c per minute and capped rate of $2.50 for the first 2 hours. After that, overage will be charged at 18c per minute and will be shown separately on your bill
  • Calls made to Spark mobiles, other than those nominated as a My Favourites number, cost 39c per minute and will be capped at $2.50 for up to 2 hours for each call. Calls exceeding the 2 hour cap will be charged at 39c per minute. Calls to other network mobiles will be charged at the applicable rate per minute
  • Total Home Lite customers with a National Home 0800 number will be charged at 18 cents a minute plus the applicable surcharges for the calls to the Home 0800 number.
  • The prices for calls to Australia, UK, USA, Ireland and Canada apply to calls from your home landline to landlines in these countries (calls to mobiles are excluded). Calls are charged for the first minute then per second to the calling cap. A one-minute minimum charge applies per call
  • Total Home Lite can not be taken up in conjunction with any other calling plan, with the exception of any Talk it Up Neighbouring Area, Talk it Up Downunder, Talk It Up Overseas or Talk it up New Zealand and Overseas, Freedom and up to two additional My Favourites numbers.

Total Home Starter calling

  • Calls made to standard NZ landlines cost 31c per minute and will be capped at $3.00 up to 2 hours for each call. After 2 hours you will be charged 31c per minute. Excludes calling cards, 059, 0161, premium numbers (0900 and any international equivalent, calls made via Home 0800 or International 0800 and calls to mobiles
  • Calls made to standard Australian landlines cost 29c per minute and will be capped at $3.00 for up to 2 hours for each call. After 2 hours you will be charged 48c per minute. Excludes calls to mobiles. Calls are charged for the first minute then per second to the calling cap. A minimum one minute charge applies per call
  • Calls made to Spark mobiles cost 49c per minute and will be capped at $3.00 for up to 2 hours for each call. Calls exceeding the 2 hour cap will be charged at 49c per minute. Calls made to other standard New Zealand mobiles will be charged at 55c per minute
  • Total Home Starter cannot be taken in conjunction with any other calling plan with the exception of Talk it Up Neighbouring Area, Talk it Up Down under, Talk It Up Overseas, Talk it Up New Zealand and Overseas, My Favourites for your home phone and Freedom

Total Home Broadband calling

  • Unlimited calls to landlines in your local calling area
  • Calls made to standard NZ Landlines cost 18c per minute and will be capped $2.50 for up to 2 hours each call. After 2 hours you will be charged 18c per minute
  • Excludes calling cards, 059, 0161, premium numbers (0900 and any international equivalent), calls made via Home 0800 or International 0800 and calls to mobiles, and excludes return calling from the nominated number(s)
  • Calls made to standard Australian landlines cost 48c per minute and will be capped at $2.50 for up to 2 hours each call. After 2 hours you will be charged 48c per minute
  • Calls made to standard New Zealand Spark mobile will be capped at $2.50 for up to 2 hours each call. After 2 hours you will be charged at 39c per minute
  • Calls made to other standard New Zealand mobiles will be charged at 48c per minute
  • Calls to landlines in the UK, USA, Canada and Ireland cost 50c per minute and will be capped at $5 for up to 2 hours each call. After 2 hours will be charged 50c per minute
  • The prices for calls to Australia, UK, USA, Ireland and Canada apply to calls from your home landline to landlines in these countries (calls to mobiles are excluded). Calls are charged for the first minute then per second to the calling cap. A one-minute minimum charge applies per call
  • Total Home Broadband can not be taken up in conjunction with any other calling plan, with the exception of any Talk it Up Neighbouring Area, Talk it Up Downunder, Talk It Up Overseas or Talk it up New Zealand and Overseas, Freedom and up to three additional My Favourites for your home phone numbers

Total Home Mobile calling

Calls from your home phone:

  • Unlimited calls to landlines in your local calling area
  • Calls made to standard NZ Landlines cost 14c per minute and will be capped $2.00 for up to 2 hours each call. After 2 hours you will be charged 14c per minute
  • Excludes calling cards, 059, 0161, premium numbers (0900 and any international equivalent), calls made via Home 0800 or International 0800 and calls to mobiles
  • Calls made to standard New Zealand Spark mobiles cost 29c per minute and will be capped at $2.00 for up to 2 hours. Calls exceeding the 2 hour cap will be charged on a per minute rate at 29c. Calls to other network mobiles will be charged at the applicable rate per minute
  • Calls made to standard Australian landlines cost 29c per minute and will be capped at $2.00 for up to 2 hours each call. After 2 hours you will be charged 29c per minute. Excludes calls to mobiles. Calls are charged for the first minute then per second to the calling cap. A minimum one minute charge applies per call
  • The prices for calls to Australia, UK, USA, Ireland and Canada apply to calls from your home line to landlines in these countries (calls to mobiles included to USA and Canada only). Calls are charged for the first minute then per second to the calling cap rate. A one-minute minimum charge applies per call

Calls from your linked Mobile phone:

  • Calls from your linked Spark mobile to any national mobile network or national landline cost 29c per minute. Calls are charged for the first minute then on a per minute basis
  • Total Home Mobile cannot be taken up in conjunction with any other home line calling, broadband and mobile plans with the exception of the of those options as provided in the Total Home Mobile details page

Broadband

  • If Spark Broadband is not available in your area we will be unable to provide you with a Total Home package
  • With Total Home Lite, Total Home, Total Home Broadband and Total Home Mobile packages you have the option to choose what happens when you exceed your data allowance. If you reach your monthly data allowance your connection will be slowed to a maximum of dial-up speeds (64kbps max) at no extra cost until your new billing month starts. However, if you have selected the additional data option, once you have reached your monthly data allowance each additional gigabyte (GB) for that billing month will cost you $2. This will be charged at a per megabyte (MB) rate. With Total Home Starter if you reach your monthly data allowance your connection will be slowed to a maximum of dial-up speeds (64kKbps max) at no extra cost until your new billing month starts
  • For Total Home Broadband, 120GB monthly data allowance applies. If you exceed your monthly data allowance you can continue at broadband speed and pay $2 per GB for the additional data used (charged per MB) or have your speed reduced to a maximum of 64Kbps and pay no extra. Your usual speed will reset at the end of your billing month
  • For Total Home Mobile, 40GB monthly data allowance applies. If you exceed your monthly data allowance you can continue at broadband speed and pay $2 per GB for the additional data used (charged per MB) or have your speed reduced to a maximum of 64Kbps and pay no extra. Your usual speed will reset at the end of your billing month
  • For Total Home, 40GB monthly data allowance applies. If you exceed your monthly data allowance you can continue at broadband speed and pay $2 per GB for the additional data used (charged per MB) or have your speed reduced to a maximum of 64Kbps and pay no extra. Your usual speed will reset at the end of your billing month
  • For Total Home Lite, 30GB monthly data allowance applies. If you exceed your monthly data allowance you can continue at broadband speed and pay $2 per GB for the additional data used (charged per MB) or have your speed reduced to a maximum of 64Kbps and pay no extra. Your usual speed will reset at the end of your billing month
  • For Total Home Starter, 5GB monthly data allowance apples. If you exceed your monthly data allowance you'll have your speed reduced to a maximum of 64Kbps and pay no extra. Your usual speed will reset at the end of your billing month
  • Customers on Total Home Broadband can choose to upgrade their broadband to 160GB for an additional monthly charge
  • Customers on Total Home can choose to upgrade their broadband plan to either the Adventure or Pro plan for an additional monthly charge
  • Customers on Total Home Mobile can choose to upgrade their broadband plan to the Adventure or Pro plan for an additional monthly charge
  • Customers on Total Home Lite can choose to upgrade their broadband plan to the Explorer,  Adventure or Pro plan for an additional monthly charge
  • Customers on Total Home Starter can choose to upgrade their broadband plan to the Go, Explorer, Adventure, or Pro plan for an additional monthly charge
  • If you have a Broadband Shared Billing arrangement you will not be able to keep this with Total Home or Total Home Lite or Total Home Starter or Total Home Broadband because Shared Billing is incompatible with our landline and broadband package options.

Total Home Mobile calling

Calls from your home phone:

  • If you change Total Home plans during your minimum contract period you will not be required to start a new minimum term contact, the current minimum term left in your contract will merely transfer over to your new plan
  • When choosing the Open term contract for Total Home, Total Home Mobile, Total Home Lite, Total Home Starter and Total Home Broadband, a standard $99 broadband connection fee will apply and you will be required to provide your own modem
  • A minimum 30 day term applies for any bolt-on calling services added to your Total Home package
  • All calls apply to standard calls only, and exclude special chargeable calls e.g. 0900 or equivalent.
  • All specific rates detailed in these terms are subject to change.

Total Home calling

  • 'Unlimited number of national calls' apply to direct dial voice calls from your home line to landlines in New Zealand, and calls are for up to 2 hours, after 2 hours you will be charged 14c per minute. Excludes calling cards, 059, 0161, premium numbers (0900 and any international equivalent), calls made via Home 0800 or International 0800 and calls to mobiles
  • Total Home customers with a National Home 0800 number will be charged at 14c per minute plus the applicable surcharges for the calls to the Home 0800 number. More info
  • The prices for calls to Australia, UK, USA, Ireland and Canada apply to calls from your home line to landlines in these countries (calls to mobiles are excluded). Calls are charged for the first minute then per second to the calling cap. A one-minute minimum charge applies per call
  • Calls made to Spark mobiles cost 30c per minute and will be capped at $2.00 for up to 2 hours. Calls exceeding the 2 hour cap will be charged on a per minute at 30c. Calls to other network mobiles will be charged at the applicable rate per minute
  • Total Home can not be taken up in conjunction with any other calling plan, with the exception of Talk It Up Overseas, Talk It Up Downunder,  My Favourites (to Spark mobiles only) or Freedom.

Total Home Lite calling

  • Total Home Lite includes a My Favourites number which provides the ability to nominate one landline number in New Zealand or one Spark mobile and make an unlimited number of direct dial voice calls each month from your home phone to that nominated landline number or mobile and talk for up to 2 hours per call. After 2 hours you will be charged 18c per minute for landlines and 39c per minute for mobiles, so if you are going to talk for longer, just hang up and call again! The extra charges for these calls will be displayed separately on your bill
  • You can nominate up to a maximum of two additional My Favourites numbers for $6 per each additional My Favourites number. Above call duration and overage rules will apply to any My Favourites numbers
  • Excludes calling cards, 059, 0161, premium numbers (0900 and any international equivalent), calls made via Home 0800 or International 0800 and calls to mobiles, and excludes return calling from the nominated number(s)
  • You must nominate a My Favourites number to take advantage of the benefits of My Favourites numbers with Total Home Lite
  • You can only change your My Favourites number(s) once per calendar month
  • The My Favourites number and any changes to the relationship with this number are your responsibility. If there are any changes to your product set affecting the My Favourites number relationship, or any changes to the number you have nominated, you need to contact Spark NZ to make any changes
  • Calls made to NZ landlines other than those nominated as a My Favourites number will be charged at 18c per minute and capped rate of $2.50 for the first 2 hours. After that, overage will be charged at 18c per minute and will be shown separately on your bill
  • Calls made to Spark mobiles, other than those nominated as a My Favourites number, cost 39c per minute and will be capped at $2.50 for up to 2 hours for each call. Calls exceeding the 2 hour cap will be charged at 39c per minute. Calls to other network mobiles will be charged at the applicable rate per minute
  • Total Home Lite customers with a National Home 0800 number will be charged at 18 cents a minute plus the applicable surcharges for the calls to the Home 0800 number.
  • The prices for calls to Australia, UK, USA, Ireland and Canada apply to calls from your home landline to landlines in these countries (calls to mobiles are excluded). Calls are charged for the first minute then per second to the calling cap. A one-minute minimum charge applies per call

Total Home Starter calling

  • Calls made to standard NZ landlines cost 31c per minute and will be capped at $3.00 up to 2 hours for each call. After 2 hours you will be charged 31c per minute. Excludes calling cards, 059, 0161, premium numbers (0900 and any international equivalent, calls made via Home 0800 or International 0800 and calls to mobiles
  • Calls made to standard Australian landlines cost 29c per minute and will be capped at $3.00 for up to 2 hours for each call. After 2 hours you will be charged 48c per minute. Excludes calls to mobiles. Calls are charged for the first minute then per second to the calling cap. A minimum one minute charge applies per call
  • Calls made to Spark mobiles cost 49c per minute and will be capped at $3.00 for up to 2 hours for each call. Calls exceeding the 2 hour cap will be charged at 49c per minute. Calls made to other standard New Zealand mobiles will be charged at 55c per minute
  • Total Home Starter cannot be taken in conjunction with any other calling plan with the exception of Talk it Up Neighbouring Area, Talk it Up Down under, Talk It Up Overseas, Talk it Up New Zealand and Overseas, My Favourites for your home phone and Freedom

Total Home Broadband calling

  • Unlimited calls to landlines in your local calling area
  • Calls made to standard NZ Landlines cost 18c per minute and will be capped $2.50 for up to 2 hours each call. After 2 hours you will be charged 18c per minute
  • Excludes calling cards, 059, 0161, premium numbers (0900 and any international equivalent), calls made via Home 0800 or International 0800 and calls to mobiles, and excludes return calling from the nominated number(s)
  • Calls made to standard Australian landlines cost 48c per minute and will be capped at $2.50 for up to 2 hours each call. After 2 hours you will be charged 48c per minute
  • Calls made to standard New Zealand Spark mobile will be capped at $2.50 for up to 2 hours each call. After 2 hours you will be charged at 39c per minute
  • Calls made to other standard New Zealand mobiles will be charged at 48c per minute
  • Calls to landlines in the UK, USA, Canada and Ireland cost 50c per minute and will be capped at $5 for up to 2 hours each call. After 2 hours will be charged 50c per minute
  • The prices for calls to Australia, UK, USA, Ireland and Canada apply to calls from your home landline to landlines in these countries (calls to mobiles are excluded). Calls are charged for the first minute then per second to the calling cap. A one-minute minimum charge applies per call
  • Total Home Broadband can not be taken up in conjunction with any other calling plan, with the exception of any Talk it Up Neighbouring Area, Talk it Up Downunder, Talk It Up Overseas or Talk it up New Zealand and Overseas, Freedom and up to three additional My Favourites for your home phone numbers

Total Home Mobile calling

Calls from your home phone:

  • Unlimited calls to landlines in your local calling area
  • Calls made to standard NZ Landlines cost 14c per minute and will be capped $2.00 for up to 2 hours each call. After 2 hours you will be charged 14c per minute
  • Excludes calling cards, 059, 0161, premium numbers (0900 and any international equivalent), calls made via Home 0800 or International 0800 and calls to mobiles
  • Calls made to standard New Zealand Spark mobiles cost 29c per minute and will be capped at $2.00 for up to 2 hours. Calls exceeding the 2 hour cap will be charged on a per minute rate at 29c. Calls to other network mobiles will be charged at the applicable rate per minute
  • Calls made to standard Australian landlines cost 29c per minute and will be capped at $2.00 for up to 2 hours each call. After 2 hours you will be charged 29c per minute. Excludes calls to mobiles. Calls are charged for the first minute then per second to the calling cap. A minimum one minute charge applies per call
  • The prices for calls to Australia, UK, USA, Ireland and Canada apply to calls from your home line to landlines in these countries (calls to mobiles included to USA and Canada only). Calls are charged for the first minute then per second to the calling cap rate. A one-minute minimum charge applies per call

Calls from your linked Mobile phone:

  • Calls from your linked Spark mobile to any national mobile network or national landline cost 29c per minute. Calls are charged for the first minute then on a per minute basis
  • Total Home Mobile cannot be taken up in conjunction with any other home line calling, broadband and mobile plans with the exception of the of those options as provided in the Total Home Mobile details page

Broadband

  • If Spark Broadband is not available in your area we will be unable to provide you with a Total Home package
  • With Total Home Lite, Total Home, Total Home Broadband and Total Home Mobile packages you have the option to choose what happens when you exceed your data allowance. If you reach your monthly data allowance your connection will be slowed to a maximum of dial-up speeds (64kbps max) at no extra cost until your new billing month starts. However, if you have selected the additional data option, once you have reached your monthly data allowance each additional gigabyte (GB) for that billing month will cost you $2. This will be charged at a per megabyte (MB) rate. With Total Home Starter if you reach your monthly data allowance your connection will be slowed to a maximum of dial-up speeds (64kKbps max) at no extra cost until your new billing month starts
  • For Total Home Broadband, 120GB monthly data allowance applies. If you exceed your monthly data allowance you can continue at broadband speed and pay $2 per GB for the additional data used (charged per MB) or have your speed reduced to a maximum of 64Kbps and pay no extra. Your usual speed will reset at the end of your billing month
  • For Total Home Mobile, 40GB monthly data allowance applies. If you exceed your monthly data allowance you can continue at broadband speed and pay $2 per GB for the additional data used (charged per MB) or have your speed reduced to a maximum of 64Kbps and pay no extra. Your usual speed will reset at the end of your billing month
  • For Total Home, 40GB monthly data allowance applies. If you exceed your monthly data allowance you can continue at broadband speed and pay $2 per GB for the additional data used (charged per MB) or have your speed reduced to a maximum of 64Kbps and pay no extra. Your usual speed will reset at the end of your billing month
  • For Total Home Lite, 30GB monthly data allowance applies. If you exceed your monthly data allowance you can continue at broadband speed and pay $2 per GB for the additional data used (charged per MB) or have your speed reduced to a maximum of 64Kbps and pay no extra. Your usual speed will reset at the end of your billing month
  • For Total Home Starter, 5GB monthly data allowance apples. If you exceed your monthly data allowance you'll have your speed reduced to a maximum of 64Kbps and pay no extra. Your usual speed will reset at the end of your billing month
  • Customers on Total Home Broadband can choose to upgrade their broadband to 160GB for an additional monthly charge
  • Customers on Total Home can choose to upgrade their broadband plan to either the Adventure or Pro plan for an additional monthly charge
  • Customers on Total Home Mobile can choose to upgrade their broadband plan to the Adventure or Pro plan for an additional monthly charge
  • Customers on Total Home Lite can choose to upgrade their broadband plan to the Explorer,  Adventure or Pro plan for an additional monthly charge
  • Customers on Total Home Starter can choose to upgrade their broadband plan to the Go, Explorer, Adventure, or Pro plan for an additional monthly charge
  • If you have a Broadband Shared Billing arrangement you will not be able to keep this with Total Home or Total Home Lite or Total Home Starter or Total Home Broadband because Shared Billing is incompatible with our landline and broadband package options.
