30 day money back network guarantee: If the service doesn’t work at the agreed address, or the performance is not satisfactory, e.g. compared to a previous ADSL, VDSL or phone line connection at the address, contact Spark within the first 30 days to cancel your plan, return your modem (in the original packaging) and we’ll refund your monthly plan charge.

 

Wireless Broadband does not work in the event of a power outage

If you have a wireless landline as part of your bundle, this also won’t work, including the ability to make 111 calls. We recommend having a fully charged mobile phone on hand at all times, or using an uninterrupted power source (UPS) to keep your broadband and landline service working in the event of a power outage.

 

Are there any services that aren’t supported on Wireless Broadband?

Yes, because the wireless landline works over the 4G network, some services that need a standard copper landline may work but are not supported for use:

- Monitored medical alarms and monitored security alarms that work over a phone line (please ask your alarm provider for more information on compatibility). If you need to use any of these services, you will most likely need to choose a different connection that uses a standard copper landline like ADSL.

- Phones connected via jackpoints in your home will no longer work because your landline is now provided via your new modem. You'll need to plug the phone into the back of the new modem using the provided cable to get it working.

- If you need phones in more than one room, we’d recommend using a cordless (DECT) phone that comes with multiple handsets that you can use throughout your home.

- Fax

- Using the SKY remote on older SKY boxes that use the phone line to order SKY "pay per view" events or movies. You can still order these by calling SKY TV directly.

 

Is Static IP available on Wireless Broadband?

No, Static IP is not currently available on Wireless Broadband connections.

 

Can I take my modem with me to another location? I.e. My Holiday home

Despite this service running over the super-fast 4G mobile network, you are not able take your modem with you on-the-go. You can only use your Spark wireless broadband modem at the location you specify when you sign up for Wireless Broadband (the installed location). The connection won’t work if you take it outside your installed location. The reason for this is because we need to be able to manage the network to ensure that all Spark customers using the network receive a reliable and consistent service. If you are moving and would like to use your Spark wireless broadband modem at your new address, contact us and we will let you know if you can continue to use the Wireless Broadband service at your new place.

What is Spark Wireless Broadband?

Spark Wireless Broadband is a fast and easy home broadband service that uses Spark’s super-fast 4G network. There are no installation costs. Set up is easy – watch this video

 

What about my landline service?

No problem – a wireless landline service is included with most of our wireless broadband plans (unless you choose a Naked one without a landline) and calling using it will work the same as your current landline today.

 

What if I have my toll calls with a different provider?

If you choose a Wireless Broadband/Landline plan you will have to use Spark for your direct dial toll calling (Non-code access). That means you won't be able to use another company to make your toll calls and any toll calls you do make will be charged to your Spark account.

 

Are there any other services that I can't use with a Wireless Landline?

Yes. There are a few that aren’t available:

  • Home 0800
  • Call Track
  • Hotline
  • Freedom
  • Talk it up neighbouring area

If any of these services are essential to you, we'd recommend you choose our Naked Wireless Broadband plan and pay for a copper phone line so you can keep using them.

 

Can I use my existing Home Phone with Wireless Landline?

Your existing home phone will work as normal when plugged into the back of the modem. If it’s a cordless (DECT) phone, you’ll still need to have the base station connected to power. If you have multiple phones in other rooms that are connected via the jackpoint in the wall, these will not work.

If you want to use multiple phones, we recommend using a cordless (DECT) phone with multiple handsets.

 

How can I keep track of my usage, and what if I want more data?

It's super easy to keep track of your usage, you can see how much data you have left by logging into your account in MySpark. Once you reach your data cap, extra data is charged at $10 for the first 10GB, then data usage is blocked. Extra data can be purchased at 10GB for $10 and this can be purchased as a one-off or recurring monthly. You can add extra data using the Spark app or through MySpark.

 

Does Wireless Broadband work in the event of a power outage?

How do I connect all my devices to the new wireless broadband modem?

Your new modem will have a different WiFi network name so you’ll need to set up your devices to connect to this. On your computer or other devices (i.e. mobile or tablet), just search for the new network. It will show up as SPARK-B315-XXXX (the exact name is shown on the sticker on the bottom of your modem). Choose that one, then enter the WiFi Key (case sensitive) to join the network. You’ll find all this information on the bottom of your modem.
