If the eligible mobile is removed from the account the credit will be stopped however the inbound and outbound calling bar will remain until you advise us otherwise.

Please note that whilst you will ordinarily be able to dial 111 we can’t guarantee that the voice line dedicated to 111 calls will always be fault free. As such we strongly recommend that you consider keeping a back up device, such as a charged mobile phone, for emergencies.

If you currently have an active landline phone any features such as voicemail and caller display, will be deactivated.

Services that use a landline phone line, such as medical alerts, monitored home alarms, faxes, the interactive features of SKY digital or PABXs are incompatible with Naked Broadband.

Each validated Ultra Pay Monthly mobile plan may only be registered to one Naked Broadband plan.

Broadband

Broadband is not available in all areas, factors such as distance from our equipment or the network’s capacity, means we may be unable to deliver Spark Broadband to a specific address.

Broadband minimum payment

Charging for Spark Broadband commences once service is connected to our network.

A 30 day minimum payment applies to Naked Broadband. Subject to any minimum term or notice period (where an early termination fee may apply), charges will stop 30 days after we receive your notice to terminate a Service, unless we agree that charges will stop earlier. Data allowance

Extra data is charged at $1.00 per GB on the 80GB plans or 50c per GB on our 150GB plan. Or, if you prefer you can choose to limit your speed once you reach your monthly allowance and you’ll never pay any extra for data.

Contract term

If you choose to sign up with Spark Broadband on a 12 month contract, you will receive a free wireless modem and a free standard connection. If your service is disconnected prior the completion of that minimum contract period, you will be charged an early termination fee of $199.

When you sign up with Spark Broadband on a no term contract, you will be charged the standard broadband connection fee of $99 and you will have to provide your own modem.

Spark is moving to online billing – as part of moving to Naked Broadband we ask that you ensure you are set up for online bill in your ‘MySpark’ account

If you live in an area where Ultra VDSL™ is already available, and you’re keen on getting it connected at your place, it’s important to consider a few things before you sign up. You can check if Ultra VDSL™ is available online.

  1. The installation

    A Chorus technician will need to install a new jack point inside your home which the Ultra VDSL™ modem can connect to. Standard installation and wiring will need one technician and it should only take 1–2 hours to complete the work. You’ll just need to be available at home during the installation so the technician can make sure you understand what’s required – they won’t start any work unless you’re happy with what’s being proposed.

  2. Modem

    We will send you an Ultra VDSL™ modem before the installation date and you’ll need to have this to hand when the work starts. The modem will then be connected to the new VDSL jack point. So ideally, the jack point and modem should be installed where you’ll make most use of the internet; for example, next to a centrally located TV for game consoles or in an office for desktop computers. Take time to plan where the modem is going to fit in with your home layout and perform at its best.

  3. Scheduling your appointment

    When you order Ultra VDSL™ you can let us know the date and time you’d like to have it connected. We can then let Chorus know as they will do the actual work. If they can’t make this appointment we’ll be in touch to agree on a new time.

  4. On the day of installation

    Once the technician has finished the installation, they will also make sure your new connection is working and check that you can get online. Chorus will then confirm that you’re up and running at which point we’ll update your service to VDSL2 speeds (this typically takes up to 12 hours). Over the next 10 days, Chorus equipment will fine tune the new service and while this happens there could be some variability in how your connection performs.

  • For new Spark Broadband customers a 12 month contract applies which includes a free connection and an Ultra VDSL™ modem.

  • For existing Spark Broadband customers a $99 connection fee and 12 month contract applies which includes a free Ultra VDSL™ modem and a technician visit to your home to install new VDSL wiring.

  • A $299 early termination fees applies if your 12 month contract is terminated early.

  • A no term option is available on Ultra VDSL™ for $299 which includes connection and an Ultra VDSL™ modem.

  • No early termination fee applies provided you connect Spark Ultra VDSL™ at your new house and enter into a new Ultra VDSL™ contract for 12 months. A moving house fee may apply. Please note we can’t guarantee that you will be able to get VDSL at your new house as VDSL is not available in all areas.

  • Home Package, Broadband and Residential Terms and Conditions apply.

  • Speeds will vary by property* but an average NZ household, could see downstream speeds up to 3x faster and upstream speeds as much as 9x faster than a standard ADSL connection. As with ADSL though, speeds vary based on how far you are from the nearest cabinet or exchange, the quality of the copper wire up to and inside your house and other factors. Technically the service can support speed between 15 – 70Mbps downstream and 5–10Mbps upstream.

  • *VDSL speeds can vary widely depending on a property’s location, the condition of its copper wiring, how busy the local copper network is at any given time of day and other factors. Find out more.

  • Traffic management on the Unlimited Data plans – We may use traffic management policies to ensure that the available bandwidth on the network is shared fairly and efficiently between all users. Certain types of traffic may be de-prioritised so that general web-browsing, real time applications like Skype, online games and streaming video services perform better.   • Availability – There are a number of factors that can affect whether or not you can get Spark Broadband at your premises or the stability and performance of your Spark Broadband connection. For this reason and the other reasons set out here we do not guarantee service until installation is complete and your line has been tested.
