Emirates Team New Zealand study masses of NIWA data from across the region to understand the differing wind states and use nature to their advantage.
Emirates Team New Zealand have a wealth of experience in analysing the weather, but that needs the most detailed data possible. NIWA provide them with a daily deep dive into what’s happening across the region. Studying this allows the team to use nature to their advantage. We’ve taken masses of NIWA wind data and used 5G to create a visualisation unlike anything you’ve ever seen before.
As you step inside, you’ll see weather data picked up from dozens of sensors and downloaded via 5G. It’s then displayed here as it was forecasted in real time and you can see different visualisations for Karekare, Hauraki Gulf, Kaipara Harbour or Wynyard Quarter.
To top it off, you’ll hear commentary by Ray Davies, Sailor and Coach.
