Spark Wireless Broadband is a fast and easy broadband service that uses Spark's super-fast 4G network. There are no installation costs or copper cables, and you don't have to wait for technicians to organise a connection. In fact, it takes just a few minutes to get online once you have your Spark modem. Easy as!
Wireless Broadband is available in most areas. Check your address above to see if you can get it at your workplace.
Note: In some areas coverage may not be as great. This is due to the landscape, buildings or obstructions preventing quality signal.
To set up Wireless Broadband, call us on 0800 830 830 to activate, plug in your modem and you're away. In most cases activation will be done within about 30 minutes. An instruction booklet will come with your modem, or watch this video
No problem – a Wireless Landline service is included with most of our Wireless Broadband bundles (unless you choose a Naked one without a landline). Calling will work the same as it does on your current landline today.
Wireless Broadband uses Spark's great 4G network. So you can expect a solid broadband connection that is similar in speed to a 4G connection, typically faster than ADSL broadband. The quality of your connection will depend on your signal strength. Interference from things like concrete buildings, hills and valleys may affect signal strength. In a nutshell, it will be slightly different for every customer.
You can see how much data you have left by logging into your account in MySpark. If you do find yourself needing more data, it's simple to add some more with our data extra. For $10 you can buy another 10GB of data. Just call 126 and follow the prompts.
You'll need your Spark wireless number handy unless you're calling from your Wireless Landline. (This number looks like a mobile number and starts with 027. You can find this on your bill and in MySpark). You can buy a Data extra as a one-off, or set it up to renew each month.
No, Wireless Broadband won't work if there is a power outage. If you have a Wireless Landline as part of your bundle, this also won't work. To make sure you can still make 111 calls, we recommend keeping a fully charged mobile phone on hand. An uninterrupted power supply (UPS) will also keep your broadband and landline service working during a power outage.
Your new modem will have a different WiFi network name so you'll need to set up your devices to connect to this. On your computer or other devices (such as a mobile or tablet), just search for the new network. It will show up as SPARK-B315-XXXX (the exact name is shown on the sticker on the bottom of your modem). Choose that one, then enter the WiFi Key (case sensitive) to join the network. You'll find all this information on the bottom of your modem.
Despite this service running over the super-fast 4G mobile network, you can't take your modem with you on the go. You can use your Spark Wireless Broadband modem only at the location you specify when you sign up for Wireless Broadband (the installed location). The connection won't work if you take it outside your installed location. This is because we must be able to manage the network so that all Spark customers receive reliable and consistent service. If you're moving and would like to use your Spark Wireless Broadband modem at your new address, contact us. We'll tell you if you can continue to use the Wireless Broadband service at your new workplace.
At this stage Spark Wireless Broadband isn't available in areas where you would require an external rooftop antenna to receive the service. Select Address Checker to see if Wireless Broadband is available at your workplace. Address Checker
