1. Terms

  1. Please read these terms carefully. These terms explain how Business Assistant and Business Receptionist services works. Spark may be referred to in these terms as we, ours or us. These terms, together with Spark’s Business Customer Terms and Business Mobile Terms, form part of the contract between you as a customer and us as the provider of the Business Assistant and Business Receptionist services. By registering for Business Assistant or Business Receptionist services, you acknowledge that you've read and understood these terms and agree to be bound by them
  2. These terms prevail to the extent that they're inconsistent with the Spark’s Business Customer Terms and Business Mobile Terms. If a difference exists, these terms apply

2. Service description

Business Assistant

  • The Spark team answers all calls that go to the voicemail of a single, specified Spark mobile number. Calls will be answered in the business's company name, 24 hours a day, seven days a week
  • When calls are answered, the caller is prompted for a contact name, message and phone number. Messages are delivered to a single mobile number or email address via text message or email
  • This is a message-only service

Business Receptionist

The Spark team answers all calls made to one or more specified numbers. Calls will be answered in the business's company name, 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

This service can be tailored to the needs of each individual customer. This service can include, but is not limited to, the following features:

  • Message delivery via text message or email. Messages can be sent to one or more users
  • Setting up schedules to have messages sent to specific people at specific times. For example, this could be used for roster management
  • Redirecting calls to the requested person on their specified landline or mobile number
  • Provision of company information such as personnel lists, website addresses and branch locations.
  • Information collection for enquiries, orders and booking

3. Monthly plan rental charges

Business Assistant

The following monthly Business Assistant plans are available:

  • Business Assistant 20: $30 plus GST per month. This includes 20 inbound calls answered by the Spark team. Any extra inbound calls answered are charged at $1.50 plus GST per call answered
  • Business Assistant 75: $75 plus GST per month. This includes 75 inbound calls answered by the Spark team. Any extra inbound calls answered are charged at $1.50 plus GST per call answered
  • Business Assistant Unlimited: $150 plus GST per month. This includes unlimited inbound calls answered by the Spark team

Note: When the Spark team answers a call and the caller chooses not to leave a message, the call still counts towards the monthly plan allowance.

Business Receptionist

The following monthly Business Receptionist plans are available:

  • Business Receptionist 25: $50 plus GST per month. This includes 25 inbound calls answered or outbound calls (excluding inbound calls transferred to another party) made by the Spark team. Any extra calls answered, or outbound calls (excluding inbound calls transferred to another party) made are charged at $2 plus GST per call
  • Business Receptionist 100: $150 plus GST per month. This includes 100 inbound calls answered or outbound calls (excluding transferred calls) made by the Spark team. Any extra calls answered, or outbound calls made (excluding transferred calls) are charged at $2 plus GST per call

Note: When the Spark team answers a call and the caller chooses not to leave a message, the call still counts towards the monthly plan allowance.

4. Billing

  • Monthly plan rental charges are billed in advance from your billing cycle date
  • Overage from any extra calls are billed in arrears. Overage is based on calls in a calendar month, not your monthly bill cycle period. These charges will show as a separate line on your bill

5. Minimum terms

All Business Assistant and Business Receptionist monthly plans are available on an open term contract. They can be cancelled at any time with 30 days’ notice.

6. Exclusions

Except as expressly set out in these terms, Spark excludes all warranties which may be implied into these terms by law, to the extent permitted by law.

7. Other terms

  1. All Business Assistant customers are required to have a Spark mobile plan. Business Receptionist customers aren't required to have any other Spark products
  2. Spark will provide these services using reasonable skill and care. Spark can't guarantee that all calls will be answered or appropriately directed
  3. Spark isn't responsible for other service provider broadband or mobile issues impacting the Business Assistant and Business Receptionist services
  4. We may amend these terms, or introduce new fees or change existing fees for your use of Business Assistant and Business Receptionist. For any changes to these terms, we'll give you at least one month’s notice before any changes take effect. If we change any terms, your continued use of the service concerned indicates acceptance of the changes
  5. Spark reserves the right at any time to modify, extend or discontinue, either temporarily or permanently, all or any part of the Business Assistant and Business Receptionist services upon provision of reasonable notice to you. Spark will not be liable to you or any third party for any such modification or discontinuance of the service
