Voice Fraud Protection Services Terms

Voice Fraud Protection Services Terms

These terms apply to the use of the Spark Voice Fraud Protection Service, together with the Business General Terms, your Voice Service Schedule and any other Business Terms and Conditions which govern your relationship with Spark. These Terms will prevail to the extent that they are inconsistent with those terms.

Service description

  • A Voice Fraud Protection Service is available for Spark Business customers to add to their Spark Business Landline for $2 per line, excluding GST, per month.
  • Voice Fraud Protection Service on a line means that a customer won’t have to pay Spark for any charges resulting from fraudulent use of that line, that are incurred before the fraudulent use is blocked by Spark.
  • Spark has a dedicated team that endeavours to proactively block detected fraud on phone lines for all customers - whether you pay for this service or not. However, for non-Fraud Protection customers, subject to our Business General Terms, all charges incurred on a line before fraudulent use is blocked remain the customer’s responsibility.
  • Voice Fraud Protection Services are available on Standard POTS, Centrex, ISDN Basic Rate, ISDN Primary Rate and Voice Connect Services.

Your responsibilities

  • In accordance with our Business General Terms you are responsible for all usage and charges on your lines and it is your responsibility to protect your business against fraud.
  • We will notify you when your Voice Fraud Protection Service has been applied to a phone line because fraud has occurred. This will be reflected on your monthly bill.
  • Where you have been notified of fraud on your lines, to which the Fraud Protection Service has been applied, it is your responsibility to take necessary steps to prevent a reoccurrence of the same incident.
  • If we consider in good faith that you are failing to comply with your responsibilities under these terms, the Business General Terms, and/or you are using the Spark services in a way that is negligent, reckless, careless or otherwise compromises the security of the lines provided to you, we reserve the right to remove your Fraud Protection Service subscription without prior notice. In accordance with our Business General Terms, if you believe you’ve been impacted by Fraudulent activity, please contact us as soon as possible and we will investigate for you. If acting in good faith we consider the usage and/or charges on your Voice Fraud Protected phone line are a result of fraud, we will apply your Voice Fraud Protection service and you will not need to pay Spark for those fraudulent charges.
