Terms and conditions

The promoter of the Competition is Spark New Zealand Trading Limited ("Spark").

By participating in any Competition advertised by Spark through a letter (the “Competition”), you confirm that you accept and agree to these Competition terms:

  • You need to have signed in to MySpark with an email address to enter the Competition.
  • Unless otherwise stated, the Competition is only open to valid Spark customers who enter the Competition between 11 July 2019 and 31 August 2019. 
  • A valid Spark Customer is an account holder for an eligible Spark service. This includes residential fixed line access, personal mobile post-paid and pre-paid, personal broadband and SME business products.  Excludes Spark Sport only, Corporate (including Affiliate and Franchise), Government, Wholesale and Enterprise customers.
  • As multiple Spark IDs could all enter on behalf of the same Prepaid account, Spark will assume that the Spark ID who entered the Competition first is the Prepaid account holder.
  • Your Spark service must be active at the time of the draw.
  • There must have been charged activity on your service in the last 30 days.
  • To enter you must fill in all the fields in the provided entry form (only accessed via logging into MySpark online) and accept the Competition terms and conditions. Information provided in the form must be accurate.
  • All valid entries received by 11.59pm 31 August 2019 will be considered by Spark for selection as a potential winner. Only one entry per Spark ID, per account, is permitted. All late entries are deemed invalid.
  • The Competition is open to New Zealand residents only who are not employees of Spark, its agents, contractors, consultants, or their families (including de facto spouses) or to other persons assisting with the Competition.
  • Spark is not responsible or liable for any late, lost or misdirected entries or for any problems or technical malfunction which may result in delay or failure to enter you into the draw.
  • A total of three prize winners will be selected by random draw (“Winners”). The three Winners will each receive the following prize for the Winner and one travel companion (“Guest”):   
    • Return Economy Class flights for the Winner and their Guest from Auckland International Airport to Narita International Airport on 31st
      October 2019, returning on 3rd November 2019.
    • Return airport transfers from Narita International Airport to Yokohama.
    • Three nights twin share accommodation in Yokohama with an accommodation provider specified by Spark from 31st October to 2nd November 2019.
    • Return transfers to the final of RWC 2019 from the accommodation.  
    • One double pass to the final of RWC 2019.
  • By entering you agree that you can accept the prize package and travel to Japan on the dates specified.
  • Both the Winners and the Guests must have valid documentation. This is including but not limited to passports and visas. These must meet the requirements of immigration and other authorities. The costs resulting from not meeting them are the responsibility of the Winners.
  • The Winners must provide traveller names and other relevant information to Spark no later than Friday 13 September 2019 to enable bookings to be confirmed. Each Winner must travel with their Guest (including sharing a room at the accommodation Spark provides).
  • Both the Winners and the Guests must purchase travel insurance (at their own cost) for the duration of the prize.
  • Spark accepts no responsibility or liability for any Winner’s enjoyment of any prize or any other costs and expenses (including without limitation other travel costs, domestic transfers or flights, insurance costs, passport and visa costs, food or beverages, other personal expenses or changing any element of the prize) that may be incurred by the Winner relating to the prize or the Winner’s enjoyment of that prize.
  • The prize draw will take place on 3 September 2019.  Spark will endeavour to notify each of the prize winners by email, text or phone by 5 September 2019. However, if a Winner cannot be reached within two working days or is unable to redeem the prize in accordance with the terms and conditions within two days from the first contact attempt; the prize will be redrawn in his or her place without liability to any person. Spark reserves the right to contact the selected Winners by other means.
  • Prizes cannot be transferred or exchanged or redeemed for cash. Spark takes no responsibility for entries or prizes that are lost or destroyed.
  • Accepting the prize constitutes a Winner and their Guest’s consent to be photographed and/or interviewed by Spark and for Spark to use his or her name, city/town of residence, Competition entry and/or photographs and interviews for Competition or publicity purposes without compensation. This includes on Spark’s website, direct and social media channels.
  • Both the Winner and the Guest must be over 18 years of age to receive the prize.
  • The decisions of Spark on all matters relating to this Competition are final and no correspondence will be entered into.
  • Spark reserves the right to verify the validity of an entry or a Winner's right to redeem the prize in accordance with these terms and conditions. Spark reserves the right to amend the prizes offered and these terms and conditions and in its absolute discretion cancel the Competition at any time and without prior notice.
  • To the extent permitted by law, Spark excludes any liability it may have to you arising directly or indirectly out of or in connection with this Competition.
  • Any personal information collected as part of this Competition will be held by Spark in accordance with its privacy policy. You have the right to access, update and correct such information.
