Connection Promise Terms and Conditions

The Connection Promise is our promise to keep you connected if your broadband goes down by giving you extra mobile data to connect to the internet and free national calling if you have a landline. See full Service Definition below.

By registering for Connection Promise, you can select up to four Spark mobiles to receive the Connection Promise. If your broadband goes down you can use the Spark app or MySpark online to perform a check your connection status. If your issue is not able to be resolved immediately the fault will be reported and the Connection Promise activated. Your registered mobiles will automatically receive the free data and free national calling.

The Connection Promise may also be activated automatically where we proactively identify an outage or fault.

When Connection Promise is activated registered mobiles will receive a text notification advising the data and/or free calling has been applied. The Primary mobile will receive any text updates about the connection.

From time to time Connection Promise may not be available due to the nature or location of an outage. See Service Availability below for more.

Eligibility

  • Available to Spark home and business customers on a Spark broadband plan or broadband and landline plan.
  • Excludes Wireless Broadband plans.
  • To receive Connection Promise the mobile must be registered for Connection Promise and be a Spark Prepaid or Pay Monthly mobile.

Free Data

  • The mobile registered as the Primary mobile will receive a Connection Promise 20GB Data extra. Up to 3 other registered mobiles will receive a Connection Promise 5GB Data extra.
  • The Connection Promise Data is additional to any data allowance within the base mobile plan, extra or Prepaid Value Pack.
  • The Connection Promise Data will be used first before any base mobile plan allowance.
  • If you have an extra or Prepaid Value pack on your mobile, the extra or Pack that expires first will be used first.
  • The Connection Promise Data extra is only available for 7-days from the date it is applied.
  • If you run out of data within the 7-days we can top up the Primary mobile with an additional 5GB Data extra. To request for this to be added please contact us via chat.
  • The Connection Promise data cannot be applied to a mobile that is suspended, barred due to unpaid bills or reported as lost or stolen.
  • Data for use in NZ only

Free National Calling

  • Free National calling is for standard person-to-person calls to standard NZ numbers (you need to be talking to another person). Excludes premium and special numbers.
  • The Connection Promise National Calling cannot be applied to a mobile that is suspended, barred due to unpaid bills or reported as lost or stolen.
  • Free National Calling is only available for 7-days from the date it is applied.

Service Definition

  • The Connection Promise is intended to keep you connected when your broadband goes down due to a broadband and/or landline fault related to the network, Sparks service or a fault with Spark provided hardware. It will not apply for situations outside this definition, including but not limited to;
    • Your broadband connection has been suspended or disconnected due to an unpaid bill.
    • You are changing to another provider and the new connection is delayed.
    • You are waiting for broadband to become available at your address.

Service Availability

  • Connection Promise may be withheld from some or all registered mobiles if application and use of the Connection Promise data could adversely impact the Spark Mobile network due to factors outside our control including, but not limited to geographic conditions and physical obstructions, weather conditions, the number of people trying to use our Network at the same time, the capacity of the network or faults in our Network or other networks used by us to provide the Services to you, as well as our Services’ reliance on systems and other services that we do not own or control.
  • Connection Promise may be unavailable at times due to maintenance, repairs, upgrades or modifications to our Network or other networks used by us to provide the Services to you.

The Connection Promise and these terms and conditions are subject to change if required because of network management or capacity issues.
