Spark Gold Plan Terms

Below are the terms that apply to our Spark Gold plans. You agree to these Plan Terms (including any updates). In addition, our General terms for all customers will apply, and our Mobile and Wireless Terms apply too. 

Service Overview

Who is eligible to buy these plans?

  1. You're eligible for the Spark Gold plans if you're aged 65 years or older. They’re available for personal use only.
  2. New and existing customers can apply in store or by calling 0800 465 365.3. 
  3. You must present a valid photo identification listing your birth date when applying in store. We accept the following identification:
    • Passports
    • New Zealand driver licences
    • Kiwi Access card
  4. You can have a maximum of two Spark Gold plans (or the $10 offer) per customer. 

What plans are on offer?

There are two Spark Gold plans:

  1. Gold Basic (includes unlimited calls to Spark mobiles and all national landlines, 50 minutes to any NZ mobile on other networks, 50 NZ texts, 100MB data).
  2. Gold Talker (unlimited calls to any NZ mobile or landline, 500 NZ texts, 500MB data).

If you’re over 65, we also offer a $10 discount on our Unlimited Mobile Plan (see the Unlimited Mobile Plan Terms for details of this plan).

What else in included?

 

  1. These plans include 1GB of Spark WiFi per day and free voicemail. 

What isn't included?

  1. Sharers can't be added to either of the Spark Gold plans.
  2. There are limits on buying a device on interest free payment. The device must be priced between $199 - $600, and you can’t buy a device on interest free if you’re on a Gold Basic plan.
  3. Spotify aren't included on the Spark Gold plans.

Other Information

Notice period (cancellation)

  1. There’s no minimum term for this plan. You can cancel this plan at any time by notifying Spark customer services. Plan charges and your service will stop 30 days after we receive your notification.

Traffic Management and Fair Use

  1. We might also have to pause, restrict, end or slow performance of your service if it’s necessary for us to protect our networks or manage traffic over our networks. We’ve covered this at clause 6.6 of our General Terms. You also need to use our services fairly – we’ve set out our rules on this at clause 2.6 of our General Terms.
  2. Your plan’s minutes and texts exclude premium and special numbers and can't be used for:
    • Multiple simultaneous calling
    • Re-supply
    • Call centre usage
    • Telemarketing
    • Bulk messaging
    • Application-to-person communication
    • Continuously call forwarding
    • Auto-dialing
    • Machine to machine communication (including by using your SIM card in any other device)
    • Cellular Trunking Units (CTUs)
    • Any other activity that Spark considers to be non-standard personal usage

Roaming

  1. Your Plan is capable of roaming and roaming charges will apply. View our roaming charges 

 

Other Charges

  1. Spark standard rates for other services apply (like additional minutes and international calls). View our standard rates
