Spark NZ has recently completed a thorough review of our historic approach to payments under the Holidays Act. This review was initiated following our identification of some anomalies in our holiday payment records and includes some of our people receiving over payments and others being under paid for their leave calculations.
As part of this review we have been able to reconcile these payments retrospectively up to January 2014. We have decided to forgo any over-payments but want to resolve any instances where we have underpaid our people.
If you worked for Spark between January 2014 and January 2021 you may be owed a reimbursement. Where possible we have emailed affected people with how to apply, but if you have been directed to this site via another source, then you are able to check if you have been impacted.
