With 12 technicians on the road and hundreds of clients, it’s vital that the Thwaites and Momentum technicians spend their time on the tools, not on the phone trying to arrange which jobs to attend. Thwaites provides diesel repairs and maintenance for the upper South Island, while Momentum Equipment Services specialises in forklifts – speedy service is an essential part of these businesses.
When speaking to their Spark account manager, the team realised their current vehicle tracking system was underperforming. They switched to Spark’s fleet tracking solution: the Bolt OBD-II tracking device and fleet tracking dashboard.
By switching to this solution, the team was able to achieve a total saving of over $4000 each year. In addition, the new system provides a wider range of features. The Thwaites and Momentum team is now installing a tracking solution to monitor the utilisation of their forklift fleet, which will enable automated maintenance scheduling depending upon the number of hours each forklift is running.
“This will not only remove the manual process of collecting this data, but it will eliminate the chance for human error and build trust ,” says Nick Cairney, Operations Manager for Thwaites Diesel Nelson and Momentum Equipment Services. “And it gives our customers more confidence that maintenance schedules are being met and customer is charged accurately for the number of hours they are using the forklift for.”
