Features: Reports

  1. Log in to IoT Bridge and click Reports in the menu on the left.
  2. Click “Create report” and select a device for your report. Start typing the device name in the ASSIGN TO DEVICE field. A list of your devices will appear to help you find the right one.
  3. Choose the data type for the report; and select if you want your data aggregated.
    • Use “None” to display all data points that have been collected during the specified period
    • Use “Hour” or “Day” to show the Minimum, Maximum and Average values for each hour or day within the specified period
  4. To create a recurring report, select “On schedule”. To create a one-off report, select “Ad hoc”. Fill out report details as required.
  5. Add report recipients. Being typing in the REPORT RECIPIENTS field to show the list of available users. All recipients need to have been setup as IoT Bridge users. You can add as many recipients are needed.
  6. Review the report details and click “Confirm”. All done.

Upon logging in to IoT Bridge, the Device Insights window is displayed on screen with Devices, Groups and Add device tabs. When Reports is clicked on the main feature menu, the Reports window is displayed on screen with Reports and Create report tabs.

  1. In the Reports tab, key in the report name or device, or type the first few letters in the Search field, and press Enter or click on the search icon.
    Details of a report or all reports that contain the few letters provided in the Search field are displayed on screen. These include: Report Name, Device Name, Sensor Thresholds (Temperature and Humidity), and the Number of Available Reports generated/received.
  2. In the Reports tab, click on the Report Name or > to download and view a report. Please refer to the View a Scheduled Report section on how to download and view a report.
  1. The link to the ad hoc report is sent to the recipient via email or SMS. Open the mailbox or SMS message and click on the link provided in the message to download the report.
  2. Click on the ad hoc CSV file to view the report. Report details depend on what has been set up in the Create report window.

Notes:

  • Check you Spam or Junk folder if you don’t see the email in your Inbox. Remember to add reports@iot.spark.co.nz to your safe senders list.
  • Note that ad hoc reports are not viewable from the Reports section of IoT Bridge. You can only access it using the download link as described above.

A scheduled report is automatically generated on Daily, Weekly, Four Weekly, Monthly or Quarterly basis, depending on your preferences. It can be viewed either via a link that is emailed and/or texted to the report recipients, or by accessing the Reports section. Report details depend on what has been set up in the Create report window.

  1. Download and view scheduled report via email or SMS:
    • Open the mailbox or SMS message and click on the link provided in the message to download the report
    • Click on the scheduled report in CSV file format to view the report.
  2. Download and view scheduled report through the Reports section. Click on the Report Name or to view a scheduled report.

The Scheduled Reports window is displayed on screen.

a) To download the scheduled report:

  • Either click on either the CSV download icon
  • Or, click > and then “Download report (CSV)”

b) Your report has been downloaded to the Downloads folder of your web browser.

  1. In the Reports window, click on the Report Name or > to delete a scheduled report.
    The Scheduled Reports window is displayed on screen.
  2. In the Scheduled Reports window, click on either edit > to delete the scheduled report.
  3. Once edit > is clicked, the scheduled report details window is displayed on screen.
    Click on Delete this scheduled report to delete.
  4. Once Delete this scheduled report is clicked, the Delete this scheduled report window is displayed on screen. Click on Confirm to delete the report or Back to go back to the Edit Report window where report details can be changed.
  5. Once Confirm is clicked, a confirmation “Scheduled report deleted” is displayed on screen. Click on Back to Reports to go back to the Reports window. The deleted scheduled report is removed from the list of reports.
  1. In the Reports window, click on the Report Name or > to edit a scheduled report.
    The Scheduled Reports window is displayed on screen.
  2. In the Scheduled Reports window, click on either edit > or > to edit details of a scheduled report.
  3. Once > is clicked, the scheduled report details window is displayed on screen. Click on edit > to edit details.
  4. Once edit > is clicked, the Edit Report window is displayed on screen.
    (Note: In the Report Type field, On schedule is not editable and cannot be changed. To create a new ad-hoc report see Create a report)
  5. In the Edit Report window, provide the following as required and click on Next to save changes to report.
    • Select a device from the dropdown list in the Assign Device field.
    • Tick on Temperature and/or Humidity as required. Options (i.e., Temperature and Humidity) displayed in the Sensor Measure field depend on what has been set up in alert.
    • Change how data is aggregated in the report by selecting from the dropdown list in the Data Aggregation field. The default value is to aggregate data on an hourly basis, but it can be changed from Hour to None or Day.
    • Change Report Name.
    • Change the Report Frequency. For details see Change Report Frequency.
    • Change recipient of the report by selecting from the dropdown list in the Report Recipients field. Once a recipient is selected, click the bin icon to delete the recipient as required and/or add a new one in the Report Recipients field.
    • Tick on the checkbox Status and click on Next to confirm report:
      • Enabled to enable generation and sending of report, or
      • Disabled to disable generation and sending of report. This does not delete the report.
        The Delete this scheduled report button allows deletion of the scheduled report. Please refer to the Delete a Report section for more details.
  6. When Next is clicked, report details are displayed on screen. Click on Confirm to save changes to report.
  7. When Confirm is clicked, a confirmation “Report updated” is displayed on screen. Click on Back to Reports to go back to the Reports window.
  8. The updated report is displayed on the list of all reports in the Reports window showing the Report Name, Sensor Measure (e.g., Temperature and Humidity) and Assigned Device.
  1. In the Edit Report window, change the frequency of generating a report by selecting from the dropdown list in the Report Frequency field.
  • Daily
    • Change target time to receive a report by selecting from the dropdown list in the Report Delivery field. The report covers a 24-hour period from midnight to midnight that is sent out the following day and is repeated daily.
  • Weekly
    • Change when a report is required by clicking on any day from Mon to Sun in the Report Start Date field and the target time to receive a report by selecting from the dropdown list in the Target delivery for field. The first or next weekly report covers a week-long period from Report Start Date (e.g., if Friday is selected, report covers Friday up to Thursday). The report is sent out the following day and repeats every week.
  • Four Weekly
    • Change when a report is required by keying in or clicking on the calendar icon to display and selecting the End Date from the calendar datepicker. This report generates the next four weekly report that covers a four-week period that ends on the date specified (e.g., between October 31 and November 27). The report is sent out the following day and repeats every four weeks.
    • Change target time to receive a report by selecting from the dropdown list in the Target delivery for field.
  • Monthly
    • Change the target time to receive a report by selecting from the dropdown list in the Target delivery for field. The first or next monthly report covers the selected 1-month period (e.g., 1-30 November). This report is sent out the following day and is repeated every month.
  • Quarterly
    • Change the month of the target quarter when to receive a report by selecting from the dropdown list in the Quarter Ends field. The first or next quarterly report covers the 3-month period of the selected month (e.g., if November 2020 is selected, report covers data between 1 September and 30 November). This report is sent out the following day and is repeated every quarter.
    • Change the target time to receive a report by selecting from the dropdown list in the Target delivery for field.
