We’ve set out below the terms that apply to ADSL Unlimited. You agree to these Plan Terms (including any updates). Additionally, our General terms and Fixed Line Terms also apply.

Service overview

Service Description

 

  1. ADSL is a standalone broadband service for small and medium business customers. It connects your home to our network via a copper connection to your house. From there, we connect you to the internet using our international network.
  2. You can add a landline to your ADSL plan for an extra cost.
  3. If you don’t add a landline, your plan is called ADSL Naked.

Availability

 

  1. Our ADSL Broadband services are available across New Zealand. So if there are copper phone lines running in your area, we may offer broadband as well.  Check availability at your address

Set Up Charge

 

  1. The ADSL Unlimited Plan comes with a modem. However, you can use another compatible modem if you prefer.
  2. There is a one-off $13 modem postage fee for all new modems supplied.

Other Charges

 

  1. Our ADSL plan has the option of coming with a landline for $7 extra/month. Find out more about Spark's landline calling rates 
  2. There is a $190 connection fee and $69 site visit cost for new connections.
  3. A $43.50 reconnection fee applies if services are suspended for non-payment.
  4. If installation is required, there can be charges of between $99 and $348 depending on connecting, wiring and installation needs.

Other Information

Minimum Contract Period

  1. The minimum contract period is 24 months.

Early Termination Fee

  1. If you terminate your plan before the end of your 24 month period, you will need to pay an early termination fee of $199. This is explained further in clauses 6.1 – 6.4 of our General Terms. View General Terms

Notice Period (Cancellation)

  1. You'll need to give us 30 days' notice to end your plan as we've set out in our General Terms and Conditions. View General Terms

Other Requirements

 

 

  1. If you add landline to your plan you may need to have toll calling with us, in addition to your broadband and landline.
  2. To get Naked ADSL you will need to receive your monthly bill online.

Traffic Management

 

 

  1. We manage traffic which may influence your broadband performance. This means we might have to pause, restrict, end or slow the performance of your service if it’s necessary for us to protect our networks or manage traffic over our networks. Fair Use

 

  1. You need to use our services fairly - we've set out our rules on this at clause 2.10 of our General Terms and Conditions. View General Terms

Effects on Other
Services

 

 

 

  1. ADSL Broadband: As ADSL runs over a standard phone line, when it’s properly installed it won’t have any adverse effects on other services in your home, like a monitored alarm, Sky TV or a fax machine. We always recommend checking with the provider of any existing services like these to make sure they will operate with this service. Also be aware that in the event of a power outage, your phone line will continue to work as normal (so long as your home phone does not require power), but broadband will not.
  2. Naked ADSL Broadband: Naked broadband means you will not have a landline. If you want to make calls from a landline (including to 111), have a monitored alarm, medical alarm, fax, or order pay per view movies with Sky TV, these services won’t work if you don’t have a landline. If you need those services, you can add a landline for an extra $10 a month
