If you can't send, but only receive, text messages, you might need to set the SMS service center number (SMSC) manually. Follow these steps to learn how to set up the SMSC number on your phone.

Step 1:

From the home screen, swipe up to open the menu.

Step 2:

Tap Messages.

Step 3:

Tap the options symbol.

Step 4:

Tap Settings.

Step 5:

Tap More Message Settings.

Step 6:

Tap Message Centre.

Step 7:

Under SIM 1, tap Message Centre.

Step 8:

Enter sms service center number and tap Set.

You should now be able to send SMS messages with your Samsung phone.
