Changing your plan or data

Plan Type Changes

  • Changes between Local and Global plans will be effective from 1st of next calendar month.
  • Pausing a plan will be effective from 1st of next calendar month.
  • Reactivating a plan: changing from paused to Local or Global will be effective immediately. 

Data Changes

Any addition or removal of data blocks is effective from the 1st of the next calendar month.

If you require additional data within the current calendar month top up data can be added. There are two ways of adding top up data:

  1. Add one-off blocks of 50GB top up data when you require it
    To request adding one-off 50GB top-up data block(s) contact the Service Desk on 0800 482 290 option 1 then option 3 (for faults), or your dedicated service desk  
  2. Turn On Auto 50GB Top up Data.
    When this is turned on, a 50GB data block is added each time your data allocation runs out.
    To request auto top up be turned on, send a change request form to contact the Service Desk on 0800 482 290 option 1 then option 3 (for faults), or your dedicated service desk
    Top-up data is only available during the current calendar month and will not carry over into the following month.

Plans and Data Billing

Plan Type: Local/Global/Paused

  • Charges are aligned with the Spark billing period and will prorate (partial charge) in the same as other Spark products. 
  • When putting a plan on pause or downgrading from a Global plan type to a Local plan type the new plan and charges are effective from the 1st of the next calendar month. 
  • When reactivating a paused plan or upgrading from a local plan type to a global plan type the plan and charges will be effective immediately.

Monthly Recurring Data

  • Recurring data works differently from the plan types.  It is aligned to calendar months which may not align with your Spark billing period.

Top up data

One-off manually added top-ups

  • These are charged on the next Spark invoice after the top(s) is added.  Each time additional data is added it will display on a separate line item showing the date and quantity of data packs that were added.

Automatic top-ups

  • Automatic top-ups are automatically added when data runs out.  This data will be charged on the next Spark invoice after the 1st of the month following the data being added/used.
