If you're using a non-Cisco desk phone (such as Yealink), you may notice that contacts don't display automatically. This is a known limitation that Cisco is working to address in a future update.

In the meantime, we have a workaround solution that allows you to display your enterprise contacts on your non-Cisco device using the Virtual Extension feature in Control Hub.

First-time setup process

If your contacts are not showing on your non-Cisco phone, follow these steps:

  1. Log in to Control Hub
  2. Navigate to Management > Users in the left-hand menu
  3. Select Contacts > Manage Contacts > Create or edit via CSV
  4. Download the CONTACTS CSV file
  5. Navigate to Services > Calling
  6. Select Features
  7. Scroll down and select Add New under Virtual Extension
  8. Ensure Organisation is selected, then select the link 'Open the bulk editor’
  9. Download the CSV template
  10. Edit the virtual-extension CSV file and keep only 'Organisation' in column A (delete all other rows)
  11. Open the org-contacts CSV file you downloaded in step 4
  12. Copy the contacts data into the virtual-extension CSV file and save it (leave column B blank)
  13. Back in Control Hub, upload the CSV file into the virtual extension dialogue

All connected devices will synchronise the contacts (almost instantaneously), and contacts will be available under the enterprise contacts screen on your device.

Note: Some devices may need to be manually refreshed. On your device, select Options and then Update.

Updating contacts in the future

To update the phone contacts list again:

  1. Navigate to Services > Calling
  2. Select Features
  3. Scroll down and select Add New under Virtual Extension
  4. Ensure Organisation is selected, then select the link 'Open the bulk editor’
  5. Select Download Data and amend the CSV file with your updated contacts
  6. Upload the updated CSV file
