Wireless Home Phone Terms

These terms apply from 7 September 2018.

The following terms apply to customers who have a Wireless Home Phone plan with us. These terms apply together with the Mobile Postpaid Agreement because the Wireless Home Phone service operates over Spark’s 4G mobile network. These terms will prevail to the extent they are inconsistent with the Mobile Postpaid Agreement.

  • The Wireless Home Phone service operates over the Spark 4G Mobile network and requires a Spark Wireless Modem
  • The Wireless Home Phone plan is only available in certain 4G coverage areas. 4G coverage is not available everywhere.
  • The Spark Wireless Modem contains a SIM card. You may not use this SIM card in any other device. It remains our property and you must return it to Spark on request.
  • You may not use your Spark Wireless Modem to receive the Wireless Home Phone service at any other location other than the installed location. If you are moving, please contact us. If you are moving to a location within our Wireless Home Phone coverage area, you may be able to continue to use the service. If you are moving to a location outside our current Wireless Home Phone coverage area, you will need to terminate your contract with us. Early termination charges may apply.
  • If we become aware that you are using your Spark Wireless Modem at a location other than the installed location we reserve the right to withhold, suspend, disconnect, or restrict your Wireless Home Phone service without notice. The reason we retain this right is that we need to be able to manage the network to ensure that all customers using the network receive a reliable and consistent service.
  • The Spark Wireless Modem requires mains power. In the event of a power failure service will not be available, including access to emergency services.
  • This service does not come with a copper phone line. This means that services that use a standard copper landline, such as some medical alerts, monitored home alarms, faxes, the interactive features of SKY digital or PABXs are incompatible with Home Wireless Home Phone.
  • If you sign up to a Wireless Home Phone plan on a 12 month contract and you disconnect your service before the 12 month contract is over, you will be charged an early termination fee of $199. You will not be required to pay an early termination fee if you are exercising your right to terminate your agreement with us under clauses 15.2, 15.4 or 15.8 of the Mobile Postpaid Agreement.
  • If you sign up to a Wireless Home Phone Open Term plan, we will send you a modem on us (a delivery charge may apply if we have to post this to you) but you need to return it if you cancel your plan within 24 months or a fee will apply
    • You will own this modem
    • If your Wireless Home Phone service is disconnected, simply contact Spark to return your modem (along with the original packaging and all associated cables and other equipment originally provided to you with the Wireless Modem) in good working order or a fee will apply
      • Spark will provide a prepaid courier bag to return your modem
      • The fee will apply if the Wireless Modem (along with the original packaging and all associated cables and other equipment originally provided to you with the Wireless Modem) is not returned in good working order within 14 days of the disconnection of your Spark Wireless Home Phone service.
      • The fee will be waived if you stay on a Wireless Home Phone plan for 24 months or more
      • Fee will reduce over the 24 month period:

        0-6 months

        $199

        7-12 months

        $149

        13-18 months

        $99

        19-24 months

        $49

        25+ months

  • If you sign-up to this plan from 7 September 2018, you will receive:
    • Two free Uniden cordless phones on connection to the service
    • A free in-home setup (only available in Auckland, Hamilton, Tauranga, Palmerston North, Wellington, Christchurch)
  • Free Local Calls are included in this plan
  • National Calling, Mobile Calling and International Calling is not included in the Wireless Home Phone plan. There are calling packs available that can be added to the Wireless Home Phone plan to cover National Calling, Mobile Calling and International Calling, otherwise standard calling rates will apply.
  • Charging for the Wireless Home Phone plan starts once your service is connected to our 4G mobile network. Please be aware you need to let us know 30 days in advance if you wish to cancel the service. If you change or remove your plan or package within 30 days you will still be charged for the full month.
