Top up my mobile

Find out the different ways to top up your Prepaid mobile.

Use the Spark app

You can use the app to top up your mobile using a voucher, debit or credit card or set up auto top up or auto pay.

Top up your account (Prepay)

  1. Select the menu icon to the bottom right of the screen. It looks like three lines stacked on top of each other.
  2. Select Top up.
  3. Select the mobile number you want to top up, and select Continue.
  4. Choose how much you want to top up by moving the slider left to right.
  5. If you want to top up an amount greater than $50, select Custom amount.
  6. If your top up is a one-off, select Top up. Type in your credit card details and you’re done.
  7. Note that the billing cycle renews every four weeks (28 days).

Note: If you've got a Spark voucher, follow the same steps above. When you get to step three, select Voucher after Continue. Follow the instructions on screen.

Set up auto top up

You can also set up an automatic top up. Follow the same steps as above. Then at step five, you'll see a white button next to Auto top up. Follow the instructions on screen.

Remove auto top up

  1. Select the menu icon, which looks like three lines stacked on top of each other.
  2. Select My account.
  3. Under the Auto top ups section, select Remove.
  4. Select OK.
  5. A confirmation window will appear. Select OK.

Top up a different mobile

  1. Select the menu icon, which looks like three lines stacked on top of each other.
  2. Select Top up.
  3. Type in the mobile number you want to top up.
  4. Select One-off debit/credit card top up.
  5. Select the amount you want to top up. You can also select Other and type in a different amount.
  6. Select Top up using debit/credit card.
  7. Select Continue.
  8. Select OK on the confirmation window.

Buy extras

  1. Select the menu icon to the bottom right of the screen. It looks like three lines stacked on top of each other.
  2. Select Buy extras.
  3. If you have more than one mobile number linked to the app, select the number you want to buy the extra for.
  4. Select the extra you want. You can buy data, texts and minutes on their own, or buy one of our value packs.
  5. Select Buy.
    • Note: If you don’t have enough credit, you'll need to top up your balance before you can buy the extra.
  6. Select Buy again to confirm.
  7. You'll get a text to let you know when your extra is ready. If you're a Pay Monthly customer, the cost of the extra will appear on your next Spark bill.

Set up auto pay

You can also set up an automatic payment for extras. Follow the same steps as above. Then at step five, you'll see a white button next to Auto pay. Follow the instructions on screen.

Remove auto pay

  1. Select the menu icon, which looks like three lines stacked on top of each other.
  2. Select My plans and extras.
  3. Select the value pack or extra that you've set up auto pay for.
  4. Select Remove auto pay
  5. Select OK.
  6. A confirmation window will appear. Select OK.

Use MySpark

You can use MySpark to top up your mobile using a voucher, debit or credit card or set up auto top up or auto pay.

Top up using a voucher over the phone

  1. Call *333 from your mobile.
  2. Select 1 for top up.
  3. Enter your mobile number.
  4. Select 1 to top up by voucher number.
  5. Enter your voucher number.

Top up using a credit or debit card over the phone

  1. Call *333 from your mobile.
  2. Select 1 for top up.
  3. Enter your mobile number.
  4. Select 2 to top up by credit or debit card.
  5. Enter the amount you want to top up from $10 to $100. The minimum is $10.
  6. Select 9 to confirm your amount.
  7. You'll go to a secure payment facility to enter your details.

On the Spark website

Use the online top up form and pay by credit or debit card. Top up now

BNZ mobile app

If you're a BNZ customer, you can use the BNZ mobile app to top up any Prepaid Spark mobile account.

 

  1. Select the menu, which looks like three lines stacked on top of each other.
  2. Select Top up.
  3. Select the account you want to pay from.
  4. Enter the mobile number you want to top up and and set the amount.
  5. Select Top up.
  6. Select Confirm.
  7. We'll send you a text to confirm your top up was successful.
