Spark Sport on Spark Account terms

When Spark Sport billing is added to your Spark mobile or broadband account, we both agree to these Terms. That includes any updates made along the way.

Who can purchase

  1. To purchase a Spark Sport subscription on your Spark mobile or broadband account, you must have an eligible Spark Broadband or Pay Monthly Mobile Plan (together “Spark Plan”) and use the services for your own personal use within New Zealand.
  2. You can purchase a maximum of one Spark Sport subscription per eligible Spark Plan, up to a maximum of five subscriptions per Spark account. Each subscription must have a unique email address (username).
  3. Spark Corporate and Enterprise business customers are not eligible.

Already a Spark Sport customer?

  1. If you have an existing Spark Sport account, you must link this to your Spark account by completing Spark’s Spark Sport activation process. It is important to link the accounts to avoid separate charges with Spark Sport and Spark. Once the accounts are linked, you’ll receive a credit on your Spark bill within 60 days. This credit is to correct any double charges you incur from the time you’ve activated Spark Sport on your Spark account and it will be calculated based on an average daily charge of $0.82 per day (this is the total maximum annual subscription charge/365 days).
  2. If you have an existing Spark Sport 6 or 12 month subscription you cannot link this to your Spark account until the fixed term is finished.

Billing

  1. From 18 July 2022, you will be charged for Spark Sport on your Spark account from the date when you activate Spark Sport through Spark (not from when you purchase Spark Sport). This is the case even if you are already buying Spark Sport directly from Spark Sport, and this means your billing periods may overlap. Your future payments direct to Spark Sport will automatically switch off when you activate Spark Sport by completing Spark's Spark Sport activation process in MySpark.
  2. You will be charged each month on your renewal date until you cancel your Spark Sport subscription or you’re no longer on an eligible Spark Plan.
  3. You won't be eligible for free trials offered by Spark Sport when purchasing directly from Spark if you have an existing Spark Sport subscription with Spark.

Activation

  1. In order to enjoy the Spark Sport service, you’ll need to activate the service by completing Spark’s Spark Sport activation process. This process requires you to log in to your MySpark online account. If you don’t have a MySpark account, you must sign up for MySpark before you can activate.
  2. If you don't activate your Spark Sport subscription before your first monthly renewal date, the monthly renewal will be cancelled, and you’ll need to purchase it again.

Cancelling

  1. You can cancel paying for Spark Sport through Spark by logging into your MySpark account or the Spark app and selecting Cancel Spark Sport or by contacting Spark by phone or messaging us. This will also cancel your Spark Sport subscription and you won’t need to cancel through the Spark Sport website or app.
  2. If you cancel paying for Spark Sport or cease being on an eligible plan part-way through your renewal month, you will have access to Spark Sport until the end of your current billing period and will not be refunded for a part month, but you won’t be charged for it again.

Exclusions

  1. Spark Sport 6 and 12 month subcriptions must be purchased directly from Spark Sport and cannot be purchased through Spark.
  2. Where Spark Sport offers one-off Pay Per View events these must be purchased directly from Spark Sport and cannot be purchased through Spark.

Watching content

  1. Data usage incurred from watching Spark Sport content will count toward your broadband or mobile data allowance.
  2. Compatible device and internet connection required. Check the Spark Sport website for information on which devices are compatible.

What terms apply

  1. Your Spark Sport subscription is subject to the Spark Sport terms of use and privacy policy. However, your purchase of a Spark Sport subscription through your Spark mobile or broadband account is subject to Spark’s Personal Terms and also these terms you’re reading now (together the “Spark Terms”). If the Spark Sport terms of use relating to billing, payments and cancellations conflict with the Spark Terms, the Spark Terms will apply.

Your personal information

  1. Spark and Spark Sport will use and share information in accordance with their privacy policies. Spark will share the name and email address registered to the Spark Plan with Spark Sport. We might also share billing information with Spark Sport. If an unpaid balance results in temporary or permanent credit disconnection with Spark, this will also result in disconnection of the Spark Sport subscription.
