Set up Netflix

Find out how to set up Netflix and what to do if you already have a Netflix account.

Netflix is free for a year if you sign up to a Spark 24-month unlimited data broadband plan before 23 February 2018.

  • To get started you'll need to have a device you can watch it on, eg, tablet, phone, computer or smart TV.
  • Then you'll need to sign in to MySpark, or set up MySpark if you haven't registered for it before. You'll need your account number and line number to set up MySpark.
  • Once you're signed into MySpark and you're not on a 24-month plan, you'll see a button that says Get Netflix. Select this option and choose an eligible plan on a 24-month contract. Follow the on-screen instructions.
  • Once you're set up on an eligible broadband plan, sign in to MySpark. A button on the top right corner of the screen will display: Activate Netflix. Select the button and follow the on-screen instructions.

If you've already got Netflix and you pay for it with iTunes, Apple TV or Google Play

  • Once you've moved to an eligible Spark plan, you need to cancel your Netflix account. Take note of your next Netflix billing date when you cancel the account. Your next billing date will display when you cancel your Netflix with iTunes.
  • Even though you've cancelled your Netflix account, you can keep using it. Your Netflix viewing profile will remain.
  • On your next billing date, sign into MySpark and select the Activate Netflix button. The button will take you to the Netflix site where you can redeem your Spark credit.

Cancel your Netflix account through iTunes

  1. On the Home screen, select Settings.
  2. Scroll down and select iTunes & App Store.
  3. Select your Apple ID.
  4. Select View Apple ID. You may need to sign in.
  5. Under Subscriptions, select Netflix.
    • Don't see a Netflix subscription listed and still being charged? Make sure that you're signed in with the correct Apple ID. If so, you might have subscribed through Netflix and not through iTunes. This means you'll need to cancel through the Netflix website:

  6. Select Cancel Subscription from the bottom of the page.
  7. Select Confirm. Your subscription will stop at the end of the current billing cycle.

Cancel your Netflix account through Apple TV

  1. From the Netflix app, select Account from the Netflix menu.
  2. Select Cancel Streaming Plan under Plan Details.
  3. The iTunes Subscriptions page will open. You may need to sign in to iTunes.
  4. Select Netflix.
    • Don't see a Netflix subscription listed and still being charged? Make sure that you're signed in with the correct Apple ID. If so, you might have subscribed through Netflix and not through iTunes. This means you'll need to cancel through the Netflix website:

  5. Select Cancel Subscription.
  6. Select Confirm. Your subscription will stop at the end of the current billing cycle.
