Google Play direct carrier billing allows Spark Pay Monthly customers to add purchases on Google Play to their monthly mobile phone bill. Consolidate your bill and one-off costs in one place and avoid the hassle of incremental charges. 

The Google Play app offers over a million apps and games, digital books and audiobooks. It is available on various platforms, including the following:

  • AndroidTM devices
  • Chromebooks
  • The Daydream VR platform
  • Android TVTM

To use Google Play direct carrier billing

To use Google Play direct carrier billing you must also have a device running Android 2 and above. You'll also need your Spark SIM in your device and the Google Play app installed.

Google Play direct carrier billing with Spark is unavailable through the Google Play website.

To add Google Play direct carrier billing with Spark, follow the steps in the Google Play Help centre. Go to Google Play Help centre

Google Play direct carrier billing with Spark is labelled "Spark" in the Google Play app. It is set as your default payment method when buying content.

You can spend up to $99.99 (incl GST) in any rolling 30-day period using Google Play direct carrier billing with Spark. Spend limits are controlled at an individual line level. If you have more than one mobile on your account, each eligible mobile will have its own 30-day rolling period and limit of $99.99. 

Purchases and refunds are listed in the Monthly Charges section of your bill, under the relevant mobile number for the purchase (including a description of the content, date of purchase and value). Understand my Spark bill

When you make a purchase, a confirmation email with your order information is sent to the Google account you use when making your purchase. You can also see your order history by following the steps outlined in the Google Play Help centre. Go to Google Play Help centre

To help prevent accidental or unapproved purchases, you can enable password protection. You can also turn on parental controls to restrict what content can be downloaded or purchased.

Once set up, Google Direct direct carrier billing is set as your default payment method. You can remove Spark as an available payment method or change to another method by following the instructions in the Google Play Help centre. Go to Google Play Help centre
