Cancel my account

Find out all you need to know about closing your Spark account. Find out about contract terms, fees and payments.

Before closing a Spark account

  • Contact us to check if any of your services come with a contract. If the contract term hasn’t finished, you may incur early exit fees.
  • If you bought a mobile, accessory or modem from Spark interest free, check to see if you have any monthly payments left. You need to pay any instalments left before you cancel your account.
  • There’s a standard 30-day notice period when you cancel Spark's services. The notice period starts from the day you let us know you want to cancel.
  • More information on our 30-day notice period can be found in our terms and conditions. See terms and conditions
  • You can choose to disconnect services immediately, during or at the end of the 30 day period. We will calculate the notice period based on the month services are disconnected, and show you the correct amount to pay on your last account. Depending on your plan, this may appear as a series of debits and/or credits.

Temporarily cancel broadband

  • If you're only going away for a short time, we recommend you keep your broadband service active.
  • Depending on your contract there are likely to be disconnection and reconnection fees if you stop your broadband for a short time. If you have interest free payments associated with your broadband modem, then any outstanding payments would be billed on your next statement if you choose to temporarily disconnect your Wireless Broadband or Fibre connection.
  • There is no guarantee that we are able to continue to provide your existing broadband plan or service to you if you temporarily disconnect for a period of time.
  • To keep your connection secure while you're away, unplug your modem and computer.
