Fibre Pocket Guide

Install outside

Now that you have a plan in place, it’s time to run the Fibre from the street to your house.

What happens now?

Read on to learn about the work that’s done to get Fibre installed outside.

Your Local Fibre Company will take the Fibre cable from the street and connect it to your home.

Based on what you agreed when you met the installer, the cable will either be overhead, underground or run along a fence or wall.

A small box called the ETP (External Termination Point) will be attached on the outside of the house. Read more...

The ETP is usually placed as close to the street as possible so remember to tell the technician if you don’t want it to be seen.

The installers will put things back the way they were. Read more...

The Local Fibre Company has ‘a full reinstatement policy’ for all surfaces they dig or cut through. That means your concrete will be replaced with concrete, grass with grass, although an exact match of surface isn’t guaranteed.

When will it happen?

The full installation including outdoor and indoor work will happen within 1 or 2 weeks of having met the installer, depending on the current demand.

What can i do?

Once you have agreed to the work, the installer will turn up to complete it without you needing to be home.
